I don't expect I'll be able to do more than a cursory retelling of the major events, and I'll probably miss and leave out quite a few.

The Tees Valley schools chosen will be fully funded by the Tees Valley Combined Authority, and supported by their local authority (Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, and Stockton-on-Tees) and Let's Go Tees Valley. Even if parents/carers drive to school the challenge encourages parking further away from the school gates. The year-round walk to school challenge is explained more in the video above. To encourage more children to walk to school we are looking for 20 primary schools across Tees Valley that would like to be funded to take part in the Living Streets WOW Walk to School Challenge in the upcoming 2021/22 academic year beginning in September 2021. More children walking to school helps to make roads around schools less congested and helps improve air quality around schools in our region. Living Streets works with Tees Valley schools to encourage children to walk, cycle and scoot to school. Let's get more children walking, cycling, scooting to school!
